A Village to Discover

Gangi is a very carachteristic and renowed town, here you'll be able to visit the various museum and churcher, all near the house. Also well known are the various folk festivals and religious celebrations of the village, such as the 'Sagra della spiga' ad the Palm Sunday.

Also famous are the re-enactments which take place in the village: 'Vivere in Assisi', in the month of september once every two years, makes it possible to immerse in Assisi in 1200 and re-live the history of Saint Francis, the patron of Italy. Also famous is the 'Presepe Vivente', in the month of december once every two years, which depicts the birth of Jesus. All of this while walking around the village in an experience powered by tens of actors and extras.

From the bedroom's balcony you overlook corso G. F. Vitale, main street of the historical village where processions and other events pass in the various festivals. A few steps away from the house you find yourself in 'Piazza del Popolo', central point of the historical town overlooked by the town hall and the Church of Saint Nicholas. Another few steps away you find all of the other charachteristic places, such as the 'Via Nuova', from where you can admire the Etna vulcan, all of the museums and most of the churches, which are frescoed and decorated by local artists.

The charachteristic views of the town, the typical streets, the strech of houses that flow down the side of the mountain, the sicilian countryside and mount Etna will leave you speechless.

Also, near Gangi there are many interest points to visit, for example the town of Petralia (20 minutes by car) is very well known for her panoramic spots such as the 'Salto dei ventimiglia' and for the museum inside the salt mine. In Sperlinga (also 20 minutes), instead, you'll be able to see the charachteristic houses set in the rock and the Sperlinga's castle.

Being in the middle of Sicily, the house can also be a starting point to visit other sicilian cities, we are in fact halfway between Palermo and Catania, with both less than two hours away. Nearer we find Cefalù (around one hour by car), a famous town on the coast and one of the nearest places to get to the sea.
